Salary Details

Upon completing your initial military and employment training, you will receive a salary package starting from $120,446 per annum. This package includes base salary, allowances, and superannuation. As you advance through training and ranks, your salary will increase accordingly

Fitness and Medical Requirements

While a Pre-entry Fitness Assessment (PFA) is no longer a requirement for Navy roles, except for Divers, it is essential to meet the necessary medical and physical standards. Regular exercise prior to joining will set you up for success, as physical conditioning is an integral part of training and service life.

Once enlisted, the Navy will support your physical conditioning to ensure you’re prepared to serve. You’ll also have access to chef-made meals, gyms, and sports and fitness sessions led by physical training instructors.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Navy Psychologist role, you must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen.
  • Be fully and unconditionally registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Meet the necessary medical and physical requirements.
  • For Reserve positions, a minimum of five years of employment as a psychologist post-unconditional registration is required
